Group Dharma Talk on Gratitude

November 26th

Date details +

Tuesday Nov 26 after sitting (~6:45).  No charge, donations welcome.

Our first ever Group Dharma Talk will be held on Tuesday, November 26th. The topic? Gratitude. What is a "group dharma talk?" Well, normally when you come to hear a dharma talk there is a speaker in the front of the room who has contemplated and prepared to give a talk; in the case of a group dharma talk, everyone who is attending contemplates and prepares to share their reflections on the topic. We all teach each other and we all learn from each other.

I invite you to contemplate the quality of gratitude over the next few weeks and then come and share your thoughts and feelings. What is it? How does it feel? What is the cause (or causes) of gratitude? Does it have value? To whom? If you wanted to be a proponent of gratitude, at home or work, how would you go about it? Please do not limit yourself to these questions but see what arises for you.

After meditation and refreshments we will arrange ourselves in a circle in the Meditation Hall and take turns sharing our reflections. All forms are welcome. From philosophical reflections to concrete examples of gratitude in action to spontaneous demonstrations, courteous remonstrations, poetic incantations - - you get the idea.

    Best wishes and warm regards,
