Togetherness, Nature, and No Escape! The Slayton family goes to camp.

By Jeffrey Slayton.

Family Camp at Karme Choling in Barnet, VT  is a week-long program that combines (1)meditation practice, (2)outdoor time, and (3)the warmth of family and community. The interweaving of these three simple elements continually catalyze and support our warrior training in realizing basic goodness and creating enlightened society.

Sitting in the Upper Meadow feeling the warmth of morning sun, hearing birds sing and children laugh and perhaps whine.
Practicing meditation in the pristine, blessing-filled Karmê Chöling Meditation Hall.
Conversations with old and new friends as you watch your children play.
Arguing with your spouse with little to no privacy.
Taking out the trash for the first time, ever.

Noticing that the sky is somehow much more a part of your life than usual. It is continually thereup there, magic. We live in a magical world.

Please come and hear stories about these and more of our experiences at Family Camp.
Tuesday September 3rd at 6:45 at the White River Shambhala Center.
