Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche at Karme Choling in May

LIFE AS CELEBRATION is the name of the retreat at Karme Choling in Barnet VT on May 15 – 17 with the Sakyong and Lodro Rinzler. The Sakyong will offer teachings on how to engage in all of our activity with an open heart. Lodro Rinzler will then discuss how to ground the view of basic goodness in all the nitty-gritty areas of our life, including our work, our relationships, and our social life.

Inspired by the Sakyong’s book, The Shambhala Principle, this gathering invites us to deepen our relationship to our own basic goodness through meditative insight and then take the practice off the cushion, viewing whatever we encounter as an opportunity to create enlightened society on the spot.

Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche is the leader of Shambhala, a global network of meditation and retreat centers. Shambhala is a tradition that emphasizes confidence in the enlightened nature of all beings, and teaches a courageous life, based on wisdom and compassion.

This retreat will offer us numerous occasions to mix meditative insights with social interaction, in order to strengthen our confidence in our innate wakefulness.
