Mindfulness meditation is the foundation of all that we do at the Shambhala Meditation Center of White River. Originating from Shakyamuni Buddha, this 2,500 year-old practice of self-discovery is rooted in the simple, but revolutionary premise that every human being has the ability to cultivate the mind's inherent stability, clarity and strength in order to be more awake and compassionate in everyday life.
Personal and group meditation instruction are offered at no charge. Trained meditation instructors are available on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 PM, Thursdays at noon and by appointment. Note that when weekend programs are in session there is no public sitting on Sundays and no meditation instruction offered. Check the Programs page for a schedule of weekend programs.
If you would like to receive meditation instruction but cannot come to the center during public meditation times, please contact Jeffrey Slayton (802 649 2975) to make arrangements for a meditation instructor to meet with you at a more convenient time.
